Letter: Plight of the west of Fife

YOU COULD perhaps have compared the unemployment problems of St Monance in the east of Fife ('What can they do when the fish are gone?', 6 June) with the plight of the west of Fife. There, more than 12,000 coal miners are out of work and the lack of economic opportunities has depressed towns that cannot get on the tourist trail in the same way as St Monance.
