Letter: Language of love
Sir: It may have occurred to some that new European 'smart cards' could lead to 'data matching' of a more lubricious kind than that posed by Leonard Doyle ('Identity cards arriving by stealth for Europeans', 3 February). These could also double as a 'love card', and a new kind of meshing of data could lead to encouters drawing upon wide possibilities from Europe's 345 million citizens.
The only snag might be that your perfect 'love match' might turn up in Prague or that there might be language difficulties when the programmers had failed to enter the information, 'Welsh speaker preferred'.
Yours,
