THE UNNAMED MP quoted in 'How to be hard up on pounds 63,000 a year' (29 November) said that 'the cumulative effect of low salaries is very considerable'. Did this Tory MP oppose the proposed abolition of the wages councils? The cumulative effect of low wages does not only affect ministers.
