Letter: Anti-anti-anti smoking
Sir: Virginia Ironside does not know her history. It was not Hitler who first introduced anti-smoking into modern (i.e. post-Reformation) society but James I, whose A Counter Blast to Tobacco was published as early as 1604. So a thinking person's aversion to this foul habit is not particularly new.
