Dashcam video captures moment van hits car head-on after skidding on icy road

Scottish couple say they hope the video will serve to highlight the dangers of driving on ice

Dashcam footage has captured the moment a van skidded on an icy road before colliding head-on with a car.

On 23 December, Grant Donaldson was driving his partner Louise Thomson’s car in Perth, Scotland, at the time of the accident.

As the couple are driving along near Balgowan, the van can be seen coming towards them before skidding round a bend and onto the other side of the road.

The dashcam footage shows the shocking moment the van then smashes into the car head-on.

Louise escaped the crash with sustained compressed vertebrae and Grant with severe bruising.

The couple said they hoped the video would serve to highlight the dangers of driving on ice.
