Everyone dreams of the perfect holiday - and the perfect place to stay. But just how much money are you willing to pay for the pleasure?

The people behind the "Business Insider'' website ( www.businessinsider.com/most-expensive-hotel-rooms-2010-11) have (maybe) helped make the decision a little easier for global travelers by listing the world's most expensive hotel rooms (per night) and if nothing else, the list will give travelers pause for thought.

Top of the line comes The Royal Penthouse Suite at the President Wilson Hotel in Geneva, which for a mere US$65,000 (47,693 euros) per night allows you to enter through a private elevator to the top floor and uninterrupted views of both Mont Blanc and Lake Geneva, while you relax in the very latest in leather-fitted luxury.

And you should know what to expect if you decide to splash out US$40,000 (29,347 euro) for a night of R&R inside the Hugh Hefner Sky Villa which rests at the very top of the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas. It features a king's sized round rotating bed and a Jacuzzi on its balcony with its own sauna and spa room.

Surprisingly, considering the amounts of money being splashed around on luxury resorts in Asia at the moment, the region's highest-placed room came in ninth, and was the US$25,000 (18,346 euro) charged for the Ritz-Carlton Suite at the Ritz-Carlton, Tokyo.
