November sees preparations begin for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season, as well as key entertainment awards.

Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular
November 5- December 30
New York City, NY

Since 1933, this holiday tradition features the famed Rockettes' kicking up the "12 Days of Christmas," Santa Claus visits his toyshop and the Parade of the Wooden Soldiers closes the finale with fireworks. A family favorite with classic Christmas carolers and contemporary touches like 3D snow effects. The national touring version visits cities throughout the US and Canada.

Mark Twain Prize for American Humor
November 9

The Kennedy Center presents the 13th Annual Mark Twain Prize for American Humor to Emmy winner, Tina Fey, star and writer of the US television hit sitcom 30 Rock. Talent paying tribute includes Steve Carell, Jon Hamm and Steve Martin. Named after the American author and satirist, the prize has previously gone to comedians George Carlin, Billy Crystal, Lily Tomlin, and Whoopi Goldberg. To be broadcast on PBS November 14.

Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

The 84th annual Thanksgiving Day Parade heads down Central Park to greet Santa's arrival at Macy's flagship store. Alan Cumming and Andrea Bocelli will be among the performers alongside marching bands and countless clowns. More than 3.5 million spectators line streets to gaze on Buzz Lightyear, Shrek, Kermit, Hello Kitty and 30 more balloons float by, while 50 million watch on TV.
