Chelsea have turned down a season-long loan offer for Callum Hudson-Odoi from Bayern Munich. The deal included an option to buy the England forward for £70m next summer.

Earlier this week the Bayern Munich manager Hansi Flick revealed the Bundesliga champions still retained an interest in Hudson-Odoi,18 months after they first began pursuing him.

“He’s one of the best talents in his position, he can play on the wings and also as a No 10,” Flick said. “That is why it’s legitimate for us as Bayern to show interest.”

But Frank Lampard insisted he wanted to keep the 19-year-old in his squad this season

“If Bayern have declared an interest then that’s one thing but as I’ve said before, everything that happens by Monday (transfer deadline day) will be things that are firstly good for us as a club because Callum’s our player and also what Callum wants will come into consideration but it has to be right for everybody," Lampard said. "At the minute, I want Callum to be part of my squad.”

Hudson-Odoi started Chelsea’s 4-0 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday.
