Fireworks Factory explodes in China

Video has emerged that shows a fireworks factory exploding in an incident that left at least three people dead.

The incident occured in Shangaro, Jiangxi province, China, that hospitalised 53 people and killed three, with one person still missing.

In the footage fireworks can be seen exploding above the building, as the blaze rages inside the factory.

The district government of Guangfeng reported that the explosion at the Hongsheng Fireworks Plant also destroyed the windows and doors of nearby homes, with 1,000 people having to be evacuated from the surrounding area.

The cause of the blast is currently under investigation.

Just last week a similar explosion occurred in the province of Henan, killing 10 people and injuring seven.

The demand for fireworks is particularly high at this time of year, with Chinese New Year falling on February 8th in 2016.
