Detectives investigating an armed raid carried out by robbers dressed in panda onesies have arrested two suspects.

Lincolnshire Police said a 17-year-old youth and a man aged 21 were detained on Tuesday on suspicion of robbery, burglary and theft from a shop.

The pair have since been given police bail pending further inquiries into a robbery at a shop in Eastgate, Louth, on Sunday November 29.

A female member of staff was forced to remove cash from a safe during the raid involving two offenders, one of whom was thought to be carrying a handgun.

She was left unhurt but shaken by the incident.

Residents living close to the shop were asked to check their bins for any discarded clothing in case the men dumped the bizarre costumes nearby.

Stores which stocked outfits and recalled selling two of them recently were also asked to contact detectives.
