Six teenagers have been arrested in connection with the death of a 58-year-old man in Wales, police have said.

The man was attacked on Main Road, Neath Abbey at around 1am on Sunday. He later died from his injuries.

South Wales Police said the boys, aged between 14 and 17, remain in police custody, but the force did not say what they were being held on suspicion of.

Detective chief inspector Darren George appealed to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or was driving down Main Road between midnight and 1.30am to contact police.

"This investigation is very much ongoing and I would like to remind the public of the importance of not speculating on the circumstances or naming of people they believe may be involved," he said.
