A 16-year-old boy has been shot dead at a pub in Greater Manchester, police said today.

Officers were called to the Robin Hood pub in Stretford shortly before midnight last night after reports that shots had been fired.

A boy was taken to a nearby hospital suffering from gunshot wounds to the head. He died shortly afterwards.

Police said three men aged 18, 20 and 22 were arrested on suspicion of murder.

"Police inquiries are at a very early stage but we are urging anyone with any information to come forward," said Detective Chief Inspector Howard Millington.
