Six men accused of being part of a British terrorist network were behind bars last night over an alleged suicide bomb plot.

Some of the defendants are accused of wanting to be suicide bombers, having trained for terror in Pakistan and having raised money for terrorism. Irfan Khalid, 26, Irfan Nasser, 30, and Ashik Ali, 26, all from Birmingham, allegedly boasted of their aim to be suicide bombers, produced home-made bombs and recruited other people.

West London Magistrates' Court heard how Nasser and Khalid also travelled to Pakistan for terror training including bomb making, weapons and poison making as well as making a "martyrdom" film.

Another member of the alleged cell, Rahim Ahmed, 25, was accused of helping others travel to Pakistan for terror training, collecting money for terrorism and investing and managing money for terrorist acts.

All four will appear at the Old Bailey on 21 October.

Mohammed Rizwan, 32, from Birmingham, was charged with failing to disclose information about acts of terrorism.

He will appear before Westminster magistrates on October 24.

He will be joined by Ali's brother Bahader Ali, 28, from Birmingham, who is accused of failing to disclose information about acts of terrorism and "arranging the availability of property for terrorist purposes".
