Police name Regent’s Park stabbing victim as suspects remain at large after mosque search

A 25-year-old man who was stabbed to death in London on Thursday has been named as Zahir Visiter.

The victim, who was from Westminster, was attacked on Thursday evening in the capital’s north-west.

The suspects are thought to have run towards Regent’s Park and London Central Mosque immediately after the stabbing.

Police officers searched the area shortly after the stabbing but did not find the suspects, who remain at large.

No arrests have yet been made.

“This murder investigation continues at pace. The attack happened in Cunningham Place opposite Elmton Court,” said Garry Moncrieff, a detective chief inspector with the Metropolitan Police.

“There have been reports of two male suspects seen leaving the area towards Park Road and into a nearby mosque.

“Understandably those in the local area will be alarmed and concerned about this brutal attack. Extra police will be in the area and on hand to speak to the public about any concerns they may have.”

Mr Visiter’s death came amid a wave of knife crime in the UK and less than 24 hours before a man in his 40s was fatally stabbed in his car on Friday afternoon outside ​Clapham Common tube station, in south-west London.
