Missing Libby Squire: What we know so far

A man arrested in connection with the disappearance of Libby Squire has appeared in court charged with unrelated offences.

Pawel Relowicz, 24, pleaded not guilty to voyeurism, outraging public decency and burglary at Hull Magistrates' Court.

The court heard Mr Relowicz, of Raglan Street in Hull, was accused of performing a sex act in a public place, watching another person for sexual gratification and stealing sex toys, underwear and other private items from people’s homes.

Speaking through a Polish interpreter, he confirmed his name, address, date of birth and not guilty pleas to the five charges.

He was remanded in custody ahead of a hearing at Hull Crown Court on 11 March.

Mr Relowicz was arrested on suspicion of abduction on Wednesday by police investigating the disappearance of University of Hull student Ms Squire.

Following news he had been charged with unrelated offences, Det Supt Matt Hutchinson said: “We are continuing to investigate the disappearance of Libby Squire and a 24-year-old man remains under investigation. Our priority remains to find Libby and support her family at this incredibly distressing time."

The 21-year-old was last seen taking a taxi from a nightclub on the evening of 31 January, and was reported missing the next day.

Police said she was dropped off near her home at 11.30pm, and was then seen near a bench on Beverley Road around 10 minutes later.

CCTV footage being examined by police shows an unidentified man opening the front passenger door of a car close to the location where Ms Squire disappeared, before getting behind the wheel and driving away at around 12.09am.

The search for Ms Squire, who is originally from High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire, entered its eleventh day on Monday.

Officers have scoured gardens and alleyways around her home on Wellesley Avenue and the nearby Oak Road playing fields, with appeals for information around the city centre.
