Eight schoolboys were being questioned by detectives today in connection with a pre-planned fight at one of Britain's busiest railway stations in which a teenager was murdered.

Sofyen Belamouadden, 15, was stabbed nine times during the brutal attack on March 25 at Victoria station in London during rush hour.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said officers arrested eight males - seven aged 16 and one aged 17, all from the Hammersmith area of west London - at 6.30am today.

"They have been arrested for conspiracy to cause violent disorder and conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm," said the spokesman.

He said the youths were in custody at a south London police station.

Sofyen, from Acton, west London, was a pupil at Henry Compton School in Fulham, west London.

A further 13 students, from south London, have appeared in court charged with murdering the teen.

Victoria Bukky Osoteku, 18, and 10 youths aged between 16 and 17, who cannot be named, were remanded in custody to appear in court again at a later date.
