Doncaster crash: Man charged after car hits and kills three pedestrians on Boxing Day

A man has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving by hitting and killing three pedestrians in Doncaster on Boxing Day.

Fay Tomlinson, 54, and her husband Andy, 48, along with Mandy Deere, 54, died from their injuries after they were hit by a blue Volvo S60 car at around 11pm on Saturday.

John Deere, 57, is in hospital with life-threatening injuries.

South Yorkshire Police said the group were walking along Sutton Road in Askern, Doncaster, when they were hit by the car.

Ricky Joe Hepworth, 24, is charged with three counts of death by dangerous driving, three counts of aggravated vehicle taking, three counts of causing a death while driving uninsured and unlicensed, causing seriouss injury by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision.

He is due to appear at Doncaster Magistrates' Court.
