Boys held over Sloane Square looting

Police have arrested two teenage boys on suspicion of looting luxury shops during this week's riots.

The pair, aged 16 and 17, were held in early morning raids in Pimlico, central London, over smash-and-grab raids in wealthy Sloane Square on Monday night.

Searches at one of the addresses uncovered a machete knife and a mobile phone containing pictures of the rioting and what appears to be stolen jewellery, Scotland Yard said.

The teenagers were arrested on suspicion of burglary and violent disorder in relation to the looting of a Hugo Boss store, a bureau de change and a jewellers in and around Sloane Square.

They are also being questioned in connection with an assault involving a machete that took place in Westminster last night.
