Keighley Cougars have strengthened their squad with two loan signings from Super League. Winger or centre Kevin Crouthers has joined the first division club for a month from champions Bradford Bulls and forward Ian Tonks will move from Castleford in two weeks' time when he has recovered from a back injury.

Fata Sini, the 31-year-old Western Samoan winger released by Salford Reds, has completed his move to York. He joins the second division club on a one-year contract and is set to make his debut in Sunday's match at Lancashire Lynx.

Jon King will captain a Scottish Development side including four of his Kinloss Hunters team-mates in Sunday's annual challenge match against Cumbrian team St Nicholas Arms in Carlisle. Edinburgh Eagles, Lomond Valley Raiders, Whitecraigs Warriors, Linlithgow Lions and Central Centurions provide the remainder of the 20-strong squad. Dale Lyon, team manager for the Scottish Development side, said: "St Nicholas will provide a very stiff test for Scotland as they include several former professionals."
