iPhone X: Best network plans in the US and where to buy Apple's new phone

Pre-orders for the iPhone X went live earlier this morning, but Apple is struggling to keep up with demand.

The handset, which costs $999 for 64GB of storage and $1,149 for 256GB in the US, starts shipping to customers on 3 November. However, if you buy it from Apple’s online store now, it won’t get to you until December.

If you’re fine with waiting, but would rather pay in monthly instalments, you can proceed with Apple through the iPhone Upgrade program. It lets you spread the costs over 24 months, and offers financing with AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile and Sprint.

Apple is offering the 64GB iPhone X for $49.91 per month, and the 256GB model for $56.16 a month.

The major networks and phone retailers are also selling it at slightly different prices. Here are some of their best deals.

AT&T

AT&T is offering the 64GB iPhone X for $33.34 per month spread over 30 months, and for $41.67 per month spread over 24 months.

T-Mobile

T-Mobile is offering the 64GB model for $30 per month over 24 months, after an upfront fee of $279.99.

For the 256GB iPhone X, you’ll have to part with an upfront fee of $429.99, and pay $30 per month for 24 months.

Sprint

Sprint will lease you the 64GB iPhone X for $41.67 per month over 18 months, but you’ll have to pay extra if you want to keep the phone at the end of the contract.

For the 256GB model, you’ll have to pay the same fee per month over 18 months, but also put down $150 upfront.

Verizon

Verizon has the 64GB iPhone X up for $41.62 per month over 24 months, and the 256GB model for $47.87 over 24 months.

However, you can save up to $300 by trading in one of the following handsets: iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, Google Pixel XL, LG G6, Motorola Z2 Force, Samsung Galaxy S7, Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, Samsung Galaxy S8, Samsung Galaxy S8+.
