The lovely, enthusiastic BBC sports presenter Clare Balding can do no wrong. So we thought, and so, presumably, thought the producers of Wimbledon 2Day. Hence their decision to have her front the revamped daily show, which started this week (bye bye, John Inverdale).

It consists of Balding reading aloud tweets, Balding chatting to ex-tennis pros and Balding attempting impromptu interactions with a stiff-looking studio audience. Anything, it seems, except extended highlights from the day's tennis, which, by unfortunate coincidence, was what most viewers had tuned in to see.

A few simple tweaks could appease the angry Twitter mob, but first things first: they'll have to ditch that cringy text-speak title.
