It purports to be a gritty drama about child abuse, seen via the daily grind of Parisian police officers in the Child Protection Unit, but there's something off-putting in its alternation of sentimentality and self-righteousness.
Director Maiwenn perhaps takes on too much material for a feature to handle; we never feel quite sure of its focus, and the sudden outbursts of fury and indignation – each cop gets at least one ballistic tantrum – seem to arrive on cue.
