Some of the tonsorial concoctions paraded in this affectionate documentary about afro hairdressers are a whisker away from absurdity, though no one will deny the commitment that goes into their creation.
Its focus is the Black Beauty and Hair Awards, where a variety of snippers and stylists turn up in a noticeably good-natured contest for one of the Oscar-style statuettes. Pleasant enough, but its natural home is surely television.
