The 10 most popular games on videogame guide website GameFAQs on Wednesday January 27 include the Xbox 360 and PC versions of sci-fi adventure Mass Effect 2, only released in North America on January 26 and not due out in Europe until February 28, and a re-entry for World of Warcraft following the deployment of some new game content.

Walkthroughs and game guides for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and Dragon Age: Origins testify to the continuing popularity of those two November 2009 releases. Both have significant portions of new game content due to be made available for online purchase in the near future.

World of Warcraft, the five-year-old genre-refining online role player, refuses to go quietly as a rolling schedule of expansion packs, tweaks, and improvements keep it top of the tree. This week its game guides reappear thanks to the extra missions made available to owners of the Wrath of the Lich King expansion.

The new Final Fantasy XIII retains its place in the charts, despite its scarcity outside of Asia - it was released in Japan on December 17, 2009 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and will not be available in North America and European regions until March 9.
