Vasyl Lomachenko claims it would be "easy" to beat Conor McGregor in the boxing ring and would happily gain the required weight to take on the UFC superstar.

The Ukrainian defends his world lightweight titles against the Mancunian in Los Angeles in the early hours of Saturday morning and is a heavy favourite to retain his belts.

The Notorious crossed over to face Floyd Mayweather in the ring in 2017, but despite surviving for 10 rounds, ended up being knocked out by the American.

But Lomachenko has dismissed the suggestion McGregor is a good boxer.

“No, I don’t think so," Lomachenko told TMZ. "He might be a good boxer in an amateur way, amateur boxing.

"Three rounds, three minutes, maybe he is good. But in professional boxing? No.

“I can beat him in a boxing ring, easy.”

Lomachenko currently operates at lightweight, 135 pounds, meaning he would need to gain between 15 and 20 pounds to meet the Irishman.

But it would be a challenge Lomachenko would gladly accept.

“With him? Yeah, no problem,” Lomachenko responded.

In a playful mood, Lomachenko would not fire any trash talk to McGregor when afforded the opportunity.

“Hello, Conor [laughs],” the Ukrainian remarked when prompted to deliver a message to the Irishman.
