David Ferrer saw off fellow Spaniard Nicolas Almagro in straight sets to win the Swedish Open final in Bastad yesterday.
Ferrer, the world No 5, secured his fifth ATP title of the year, and his second in Bastad after his triumph in 2007, as he cruised to a comfortable 6-2, 6-2 victory in just 68 minutes.
Two breaks of serve in each set did the damage for Wimbledon quarter-finalist Ferrer, who faced just one break point in the match as he beat world No 10 Almagro for the 11th time in as many meetings.
