The former Scotland and Nottingham Forest midfielder Jim McInally, who was released by Dundee at the end of last season, has joined the League of Ireland side Sligo Rovers as manager.

Scott Wilson, Rangers' Scotland Under-21 international central defender, has agreed a one-year extension to his contract, thus committing himself to the club for the next three seasons.

The Paraguayan international defender Carlos Gamarra has signed for Atletico Madrid from the Brazilian club, Corinthians.

Carlos Timoteo Griguol is to be the new coach of the Spanish club Real Betis. The 64-year-old former Argentinian international is currently at Gimnasia y Esgrima La Plata in his native country.
