Woodward gives Shaw a chance
The England coach Clive Woodward has made one change for the second Test against Canada in Burnaby in the early hours of Sunday. The Wasps lock Simon Shaw, who would have started the 22-10 win in Markham last weekend but for an ankle problem, is in the team.
With Leicester's Ben Kay retaining his place in the starting line-up, Steve Borthwick steps down and cannot even content himself with a place on the bench. The extra versatility of Harlequins' Steve White-Cooper gets him the nod.
England outscored British Columbia by six tries to one as they recorded their second tour victory with a 41-19 success in Vancouver on Tuesday. The win was marred by a neck injury to scrum-half Scott Benton, who will take no further part in the tour. The uncapped Nick Walshe, of Saracens, will fly out to replace him.
* Allan Bateman's first-half exit due to an ankle injury triggered alarm bells as Wales secured their first win on their Far East tour. Wales, who lost their opening match to the Japanese club champions Suntory, turned round a 15-13 half-time deficit to run out 33-22 winners over a Japan Select XV in Osaka. Adrian Durston and Shane Williams were Wales' try-scorers, the latter crossing twice. The first Test against Japan is on Sunday.
