RFU chief happy with working party

Tony Hallett, the secretary of the RFU, yesterday welcomed the news that a working party is to be set up to define his terms of reference and those of other senior officials, writes Paul Trow. Hallett said: "The search for unity at the top of the RFU will be greatly helped when this review looks at the job descriptions of all the major officers, including myself. The working party will meet soon and comprise senior figures in the game plus at least one outside member." Sir Pat Lowry, a former chairman of ACAS and the chairman of Wasps, will take charge of the review. The outgoing RFU president, Bill Bishop, is expected to meet his counterparts from Wales, Scotland and Ireland in an attempt to find a solution to the impasse over future televising of the Five Nations' Championship.
