Racing: Sea seeks to turn the tide

ALL AT SEA, who was soundly defeated by User Friendly in the Oaks, begins her attempt to rebuild her tall reputation at Goodwood on Saturday. The Henry Cecil-trained filly will face a maximum seven rivals in the Group Two Nassau Stakes.

Among the fillies who stood their ground for the race yesterday is Paul Cole's Ruby Tiger, winner of the 10-furlong contest last year. She cracked a knee bone in the course of that victory and has run just twice since, beaten on her latest outing at The Curragh by Market Booster, another possible for Saturday.

The full list of five-day declarations is: All At Sea, Fragrant Hill, Gai Bulga, Gussy Marlowe, Market Booster, Mohican Girl, Oumaldaaya, Ruby Tiger.

Ladbrokes yesterday cut Marling to 6-4 from 2-1 for tomorrow's Sussex Stakes and reported significant support for Magnified in Thursday's Golden Mile.

Not seen since winning a Leicester handicap on 25 May, Magnified was cut to 14-1 from 33-1. William Hill were even more wary, going 12-1 from 33-1. The colt is trained by Barry Hills whose stable brought off a gamble when Strike Force won the same race in 1988.
