2.00: Confidence is tempered by his Newcastle flop, but BOLD KING has a fine chance on his previous C&D second (when arguably unlucky) to Therhea.

2.30: The unbeaten trio of See You Later, Passion Flower and ELAFLAAK look the ones to concentrate on here, with preference for the Marcus Tregoning-trained filly who was not at all extended when winning over C&D four weeks ago.

3.00: After three easy wins from three starts this season, why desert BLUEPRINT now? The Queen's colt was in another class in both a supposedly competitive handicap at Royal Ascot and a Newmarket listed race and receives weight from three of his four rivals here. Craigsteel and Silver Patriarch are no pushovers, but are likely to find that Blueprint is just too progressive for them.

2.35: The highly capable Emma Ramsden takes the reigns on BRANDON COURT. This eight-year-old usually races at longer distances, so his rider is likely to try to stretch the stamina of the opposition.

3.05: CROESO CARIAD, held in high regard by Michael Bell, showed the trainer's faith was not misplaced by trotting up at Chepstow last time. She is thrown in at the deep end in this higher league but has plenty of scope.

3.35: Mubrik will be hard to beat here, especially if rain eases the going further. But TAYIF is an attractive alternative. This lightly-raced three-year-old shows plenty of speed in a finish, as seen when he won readily at Sandown last time.

4.05: Mark Tompkins's horses are performing well just now and the consistent THREE ANGELS, touched off over this trip at Bath two starts ago, can keep the flag flying here. Cusin reportedly had a cold when disappointing on his latest outing and will be a potent danger.

RIPON

2.50: The thrice-raced three-year-old MAIDEN'S BLUSH is a good-looking, well-bred individual who took her chance in the Cheshire Oaks last time. That venture did not work out, but if she is at all useful, then she has surely be found an excellent opportunity off a handicap mark of only 80 here. Mindanao looks the one who will test her most.

3.20: In the last 10 years, a draw near either the stands rail or the far rail has proved a big plus. Stall 2 has supplied the winner of this contest no less than five times in the decade and a dark horse, Downland, has the lucky berth on this occasion. But there should be plenty of early pace among the high numbers and PIPALONG (stall 17) has been competing in a higher class of late and has a fine chance representing a stable that always targets this event.
