Racing: Armiger an able deputy
TENBY, ante-post favourite for next year's Derby at prices as low as 7-1, is one of 20 horses still left in the Group One Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster on 24 October.
The colt extended his unbeaten record when winning the Grand Criterium at Longchamp on Saturday but his trainer, Henry Cecil, has indicated that the son of Caerleon may be put away for the winter.
His stable-companion Armiger, who made an impressive winning debut at Newmarket last week and, like Tenby, is owned by Khalid Abdulla, is likely to deputise. Armiger is a 25-1 chance for Epsom.
