Ravaglia revels in Touring Cars

Italian Roberto Ravaglia became the seventh different driver to win a race in the Auto Trader RAC Touring Car Championship, when he fended off a race-long challenge in the 15th round from Rickard Rydell at Silverstone yesterday, writes David Tremayne. Rydell pushed David Leslie's pole-winning Honda Accord out of second place as they entered the Luffield corner at the end of the first lap and thereafter was never more than half a second in Ravaglia's wake. In the British F3 Championship race, Darren Manning fended off the challenge of series leader Ralph Firman to score his first victory.
