The London Monarchs' hopes of appearing in the World Bowl suffered a major setback with a 7-6 loss at the hands of the Barcelona Dragons in torrential rain in Spain last night.

The Dragons scored the game's only touchdown late in the first half through Alphonzo Browning. The Monarchs' points came from two Roger Ruzek field goals.

On Saturday Will Furrer, the Amsterdam Admirals quarterback, defeated the Scottish Claymores with a 46-yard run for a touchdown with 3.43 remaining and passed for three more as the hosts won 31-27.
