The Green Bay Packers reached their first Super Bowl for 29 years with a 30-13 win over the Carolina Panthers yesterday in the NFC Championship game. In New Orelans on 26 Jnaury hey will meet the New England Patriots, who defeated the Jacksonville Jaguars 20-6 to win the AFC Championship. The turning point at Lambeau Field, where it was 3F (-16C) at the start of the game with a wind-chill of -17F, came in the final minute of the first half when the Packers scored 10 points to lead 17-10. New England's triumph in Foxboro, Massachusetts was built on solid defense and clinched with a final touchdown from Otis Smith.
