Golf: Forbes claims maiden victory

Scotland's Julie Forbes produced a birdie at the second play-off hole to beat Dale Reid and Suzanne Strudwick and claim pounds 8,250 and her maiden professional Tour victory in the Var French Open at St Endreol yesterday. Forbes came from behind with a closing round of 70 to finish in a tie with Reid and Strudwick at three under par on 213. 'It feels great to win at last,' said Forbes, who turned professional in 1991. 'I had a putt of 20 feet to win on the 18th but made no mistake the second time around.'
