Wigan prepared for Leeds in play-off

Brian Noble says Wigan will be a different proposition tomorrow night from the side thrashed by Leeds at the same stage of the Super League play-offs last year.

The patched-up Warriors lost 36-6 at Headingley that night. "Last year we were a bit broken and Sellotaped together with vinegar and brown paper," the Wigan coach said.

"This year I've pretty much got all my troops healthy."

Leeds, who also put 50 past Wigan at the JJB last month, expect to have Brent Webb fit after a knee scare and recall Super League’s rookie of the year, Luke Burgess.

Bradford have lost a forward and gained one on the busiest day of transfer dealing so far. Simon Finnigan has joined Huddersfield on a three-year contract, but Michael Worrincy has arrived from Harlequins on a two-year deal.

Worrincy is the second recruit at Odsal from the London club, following the capture of Rikki Sheriffe earlier this week.

Warrington have appointed Nigel Wright as assistant coach to James Lowes. The former Wakefield and Wigan stand-off has been working as number three at Trinity.

Warrington are also expected to add St Helens' conditioner, Apollo Perelini, to their back-room staff, but have released two forwards, Rob Parker and Andy Bracek. Parker has already been in talks with Salford, whilst Bracek is a possible recruit for the Celtic Crusaders.

The Catalan Dragons have signed the Brisbane Broncos' scrum-half, Shane Perry, for next season. He will be an indirect replacement for the hooker, Aaron Gorrell, who is moving in the opposite direction to join the Broncos.

Gateshead, promoted to National League 1 next season, have signed the Castleford hooker, Andrew Henderson.

Cas have immediately recruited a successor in Kirk Netherton, recently released by Hull KR.
