Heavy rain across the country is threatening to wipe out today's racing action. The card at Leicester has already been abandoned while Sedgefield and Ayr will inspect at 7am and 7.30am respectively.

Yesterday, only Ayr's card survived unscathed from four meetings due to take place in Britain and Ireland. Leicester was able to stage only its first five races on an eight-race card, Windsor was called off at 12.30pm and Punchestown was abandoned after one race.

Haydock's meeting tomorrow has already been abandoned because of waterlogging. Tomorrow's other cards are at Wetherby and on the all-weather surface at Lingfield.

The Princess Royal Stakes and Cornwallis Stakes, which fell victim to the security alert which caused Ascot's card to be called off on Saturday, have been rescheduled. The Princess Royal Stakes will be run at Newmarket on Friday and the Cornwallis Stakes will be run at Newbury on 20 October.
