Summer transfer window 2018: Latest Premier League deals and rumours round-up

Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce has revealed that Tottenham are “nowhere near” in their valuation of Jack Grealish.

England Under-21 forward Grealish has been a long-time target for Tottenham, with the club pushing for a move ahead of the transfer deadline next week.

Late last month, Bruce insisted that they would not sell Grealish on the cheap – despite the financial predicament they faced at the start of the summer.

However, with the Championship club finding new investors to secure Villa’s future, it is thought that the necessity to sell players has been reduced.

As such, Aston Villa are refusing to drop their asking price for Grealish as they attempt to negotiate a fair transfer fee with Tottenham.

“I know for a fact from the owners, new investors, anybody wanting to buy Jack Grealish will not buy him on the cheap,” Bruce said last month.

“If we have to sell them then at least we get the right price for them and can move forward. So if anybody is going to buy one of our players now they are going to have to pay a premium.”
