Tottenham ready to offload Michael Dawson and Tom Huddlestone, with QPR waiting to pounce

The clear-out of Tottenham players who have fallen out of favour under the new Andre Villas-Boas regime is expected to begin with Michael Dawson, for whom Queen's Park Rangers have offered in the region of £8m to sign this month.

Dawson has also been a target for Stoke City but it looks as if Tony Pulis is going to take another Spurs England international, Tom Huddlestone, on loan this week after he too has found himself left out of the plans of Villas-Boas. Neither Dawson nor Huddlestone were part of the squad that travelled to Newcastle for Saturday's opening Premier League game.

Despite having served as a captain under previous manager Harry Redknapp, Dawson has found himself largely ignored during pre-season. He suffered two serious injuries last season, the second, a rupture to ankle ligaments in March, curtailing his entire season. At 28, however, he is now fit and still represents an attractive proposition on the transfer market.

Huddlestone has also suffered with injury in the past 15 months, and played just four times last season, but he is now back to full fitness. He has been given few chances to shine in Spurs' pre-season, even in the absence of Scott Parker through injury and with the uncertainty surrounding Luka Modric's future.
