Monaco will reportedly demand at least £90m from Liverpool if the Merseyside club attempt to complete a deal for winger Thomas Lemar this month.

According to the Mirror, the Ligue 1 club feel as though Lemar’s value has increased since the summer, when Arsenal saw a £90m offer accepted for the 22-year-old.

Liverpool are believed to have felt such a fee was too steep at the time, though may be more willing to spend having received the £142m windfall from Philippe Coutinho’s exit.

Elsewhere, reports in Italy claim that Daniel Sturridge has resorted to offering his services to other clubs in order to secure regular minutes away from Anfield.

The Liverpool striker has had to make do with a bit-part role this season and though the likes of Southampton and West Ham United are said to be sniffing around, Tuttosport claim Sturridge is interested by Internazionale.

The 28-year-old could join the Nerazzurri on a six-month loan deal, according to the Turin-based newspaper, as he seeks to play his way into the World Cup plans of England manager Gareth Southgate.

Meanwhile, Antonio Conte has confirmed that Chelsea were interested in Virgil van Dijk until Liverpool’s willingness to part with £75m for the defender priced the reigning Premier League champions out.

Chelsea were never willing to part with more than £50m for Van Dijk, who started and scored in his first Liverpool appearance last Friday against Everton.

“This is football,” Conte said on Tuesday. “This is life. For sure he was our target but as you know this is football.

“We can have a lot of targets but you must be able to reach those targets. The transfer market is not simple for any club.”
