Kevin de Bruyne, the midfielder who failed to make an impact at Chelsea, could be set for a return to the Premier League with Manchester City says his agent.

Since leaving Stamford Bridge in January 2014, the Belgium international has been in scintillating form.

He has scored 10 league goals and notched a staggering 17 assists in the Bundesliga with Wolfsburg this season, putting his team on course for qualification for the Champions League. They currently sit second in the table.

His form has led to speculation that he will depart this summer and according to his agent, talks have already been held with Manchester City.

"For the moment, there are no formal discussions. Of course in the next few weeks I will be going around the world to talk about the situation with Kevin but this is just informal information," Patrick de Koster told The Guardian.

"I will talk to everybody but Kevin is very, very happy with Wolfsburg and the way they have treated him since he arrived from Chelsea last year.

"There are still five games to play and hopefully they can make sure of a place in the Champions League next season so it is a little bit too early to be making any decisions. He has a four-year contract at Wolfsburg so we will have to see what they want to do.

"I have met the people from Manchester City and we know each other."

De Bruyne was a Chelsea player for two years but injuries and loan spells away from Stamford Bridge saw him make just nine appearances in total and fail to score a single goal.

De Koster revealed that Manchester United are not among those showing interest.

"I've never spoken to anyone from Manchester United but a lot of other clubs have been in touch to find out some general information."
