Transfer deadline day summer 2019: The deals done so far

Chelsea starlet Dujon Sterling is close to sealing a season-long loan move to Queens Park Rangers.

The 19-year-old right-back spent last season at Coventry and The Independent understands that he will now head back out on loan again with first-team opportunities limited at Stamford Bridge behind Cesar Azpilicueta, Davide Zappacosta and fellow academy graduate Reece James.

Sterling made 40 appearances for the Sky Blues last season and QPR have been keen to add him to their Championship squad for a number of weeks after completing a loan deal for Tottenham midfielder Luke Amos.

The teenager made his first-team debut under Antonio Conte in September 2017, when he replaced Zappacosta in the latter stages of the club’s League Cup third-round win against Nottingham Forest, having being promoted to the U23s while still 16 years old.

Sterling signed a long-term deal keeping him at Chelsea until the summer of 2022 shortly after making that maiden first-team appearance.
