West Ham are reportedly in talks over the transfer of Alex Song from Barcelona.

The former Arsenal midfielder has been linked with a return to the Premier League for much of the summer, and now Sky Sports are reporting that the 26-year-old could be Upton Park bound.

It's claimed that the Hammers are in talks with Barcelona about the possible transfer, which will have to be concluded before the deadline on Monday night.

Song has failed to establish himself at the Nou Camp since leaving Arsenal in 2012 for a fee in the region of £15m. It's thought that new Barcelona manager Luis Enrique sees no future for him at the club.

That's led to the speculation linking him with a move - with Liverpool and Tottenham also mentioned as possible destinations.

Song disgraced himself at this summer's World Cup when he was shown a red card for elbowing Mario Mandzukic amid a generally embarrassing campaign for Cameroon.
