Rangers must stay focused, says Davis

Steven Davis has urged Rangers to learn the lessons from last season and not throw away the title again. The midfielder fired Rangers to a 1-0 win in Saturday's Old Firm derby which allowed them to move into pole position in the Scottish Premier League.

With a two-point advantage, they are now favourites for the championship but Davis has not forgotten how it all went wrong last year.

He said: "This win does a lot for momentum. We've put together a good run of results so far and we've managed to keep that run going. But it counts for nothing unless we see it through. Hopefully, we can learn from last season and the disappointment of that and go on to win it."

Celtic defender Darren O'Dea is confident the champions will bounce back after the blow at Ibrox. "The atmosphere was great on Saturday and everyone was up for it but it just didn't happen for us on the day," he said.

"I would say we were the better team but they won the match and it's now just a case of picking ourselves up for Tuesday [when Dundee United visit Parkhead]. Now we need to go and win our remaining games and obviously hope that Rangers drop points."
