Premier League leaders Motherwell threw away a two-goal lead as Aberdeen snatched a point in a thrilling 3-3 draw at Pittodrie yesterday. Goals from Michael Higdon, Shaun Hutchinson and Nicky Law put Motherwell 3-1 ahead going into the final six minutes, before Niall McGinn headed in to half the deficit. Josh Magennis struck in stoppage-time to frustrate the visitors , who are still unbeaten so far.

Elsewhere in the Scottish Premier League, the Celtic manager, Neil Lennon, was delighted with the amount of chances his side created as the champions returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Dundee, but remains worried about the number of missed opportunities.

"What isn't a concern is the chances that we are creating, because we are doing that on numerous occasions in games – but I would like to see us start putting a few more away," said Lennon. "We got a great second goal in the second half and I felt after that it was one-way traffic and the only disappointment was we didn't get more."

Derek Adams, the Ross County manager, praised his players despite their 40-match unbeaten run coming to an end with a 2-1 home defeat to St Johnstone. "I have told the lads to be very proud of what they have achieved," said Adams. "We are disappointed, obviously, particularly seeing it happen in the manner it did today."

Meanwhile, Rangers cruised to a 4-1 victory over Montrose in the Third Division at Ibrox.
