Klos was operated on by Dr Richard Steadman in Colorado on Saturday. The Germany international should be ready for pre-season training in June.

Sven Goran Eriksson is not the only international coach forced to compromise with his club counterparts when it comes to international friendlies.

Real Madrid announced yesterday that Ronaldo will not play for Brazil in this week's friendly international against Hong Kong, after Real reached an agreement for the striker to remain in Spain.

However, Ronaldo's Real and Brazil team-mate Roberto Carlos will travel to Hong Kong for Wednesday's game.
