Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino says his players are starting to believe they could win the Premier League title this season.

The 1-0 home win against Watford moved Spurs into second, five points adrift of leaders Leicester City, with 13 matches to go. The North London outfit have not been as high in the League table after 25 games since 2012.

“You can see in their eyes, the feeling, the energy, that they believe,” Pochettino said. “Belief is the most important word. If we believe, anything can happen.

“It's real, we are in a very good position but we need to keep working and not think too much about the future," the Argentinian added.

“For me, historically Tottenham is one of the biggest clubs in England. It is not a surprise we are in a good position. But it is better not to speak too much, only to work hard.”

Tottenham have not won the English first division since 1961 but they play title rivals Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium next weekend while Leicester travel to the Emirates to face Arsenal.

Kieran Trippier’s first goal for the club was enough to see off Quique Sanchez Flores’s side at White Hart Lane and keeps Spurs on track to register the best goal difference in the League.
