Steven Gerrard final Anfield appearance: What can we expect to see against Crystal Palace on Saturday?

After 17 glorious years at Liverpool, Steven Gerrard will make his final appearance at Anfield during the Premier League match against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The Reds' captain will move to the MLS in America this summer to play for LA Galaxy, and says the game against Palace will be a "proper goodbye".

Before the match a guard of honour from both sets of players will greet the 34-year-old.

In addition, a mural tribute will be on show at the Kop.

Liverpool's final game of the season, and Gerrard's absolute final for his boyhood club will be at Stoke City the following Sunday on the final day of the season.

Gerrard spoke about his final games for Liverpool this week, saying: "It’s tough at the moment because time is running out and I’m going to miss it so much. I’ve been coming to Liverpool since I was eight years old.

“Saturday is going to be the proper goodbye but there’s another game after that so I need to stay strong.”

Gerrard made his first-team debut for Liverpool back in 1998, and has since enjoyed a trophy-laden career at the club, winning one Champions League, one Uefa Cup, two FA Cups, three League Cups and one Uefa Cup.

He has made a total of 708 appearances for Liverpool, scoring 185 goals.
