New Chelsea signing Pedro has given John Terry his backing after yet another difficult weekend, calling his Blues team-mate a "great captain".
The Spain international moved from Barcelona for £21.1m last week, and enjoyed a dream debut for Chelsea yesterday, with a goal and an assist in the Blues' 3-2 win at West Brom.
While it was a dream for Pedro, it was another chapter in Terry's nightmare season, as he was sent off after picking up a second yellow card. The previous week, the 34-year-old defender was substituted at half-time in Chelsea's 3-0 defeat by Manchester City.
Speaking at his press conference today, Pedro said:
"I had a great welcome at Chelsea. I felt comfortable from the start. John [Terry] is a great captain."

West Brom 2 Chelsea 3 player ratings Willian Made a great run on the counter to set up Chelsea’s second goal and should have scored just before the break but drove high. Another good performance with a high work rate against West Brom. 7

West Brom 2 Chelsea 3 player ratings Pedro4 Chelsea’s man of the match. The winger seemed at ease on his Premier League debut scoring a goal and setting up Diego Costa’s strike. His pace on the right and his superb crosses will prove dangerous for Chelsea this season. 8
West Brom 2 Chelsea 3 player ratings Costa.jpg His goal was the icing on the cake for the striker, who enjoyed a very good performance up front. Costa looked dangerous throughout and really should have bagged a brace in the second half but drove high with time and space. 8
Pedro, 28, also admitted that Manchester City and Manchester United were interested in him, but Chelsea acted "quickest". The Blues met his release clause.
John Terry leaves the field after dismissal against West Brom "Several English clubs were interested. United, City... But in the end Chelsea acted the quickest and wrapped up the deal."
